HOT DAMN!!!

 YAY!
I posted about my predicament on the social media fiasco we call facebook.

One of my friends asked about my footwear!

It was the missing link!!!!

I did almost a mile and a half with NO back spasms.  :D
Much glee!!!

Back hurt more and more as the shoes get worse and worse.

Change the shoes and BOOM!  no pain.

So much lauds to Laura!  She wins the internet today.

Not a good trend

Well, I noticed a trend while I have been doing  my walks.

My back starts aching earlier and earlier.

This is why I want to do the PT, but I'm resistant to do it, if it doesn't help.  Gonna keep on it, though.  Sigh

Keep swimming (metaphorically speaking)

I'm doing a walking event challenge with Garmin for the next three months.  The challenge is to have 91 miles of walking events between July 1 and Sept 30.

I'm trying to keep ahead of the game.  That way if there's a bad day, where I can't do a walk for some reason, oh, say, it's 90+ degrees for example, I don't wind up behind.

I'm at 8.02 miles so far.  Still ahead!

I have been bad about my PT.  sigh.  back started feeling it at .41 miles in today's walk.  and it wasn't any kind of Personal Best (PB from now on).  Took over 26 minutes to do today's 1.11 miles.  24+ minute mile.  Ick.  But it's HUMID out there right now.  But I did it, with spazzy back.

I'm gonna find out if treadmill workouts count for walk events.  If they do, then I will be able to do Oct-Dec's event, with no issue.  Since there's a treadmill at the new house.  A girl can hope, right?

I've discovered that I do better with some kind of goal when it comes to exercise.  I mean a concrete "Get 91 miles of walking" sort of goal.  It's not ambiguous.  If I walk 91 miles it will be because I got out there and walked them.  Weight loss goals are way too amorphous.  IF I do the food thing right, IF I do the exercise thing right, IF IF IF IF then MAYBE.  But the IF isn't shapeless for a walking goal.

:)

I just created 'workouts' for my PT.  Concrete start/stop for that.  I hope it will help, for it to be recorded somewhere.

Gonna try it out right now.

WOOHOO!

Second day of PT and a 2+ mile walk.

Yesterday I went 2.7m, and today I went 2.6m.

My back twinged at .65 yesterday and at .61 today.  But just warning.  No actual hurt.  I had a hill in my walk route yesterday, but my leg started warning me today, so I made a point to avoid that big hill.

I did some weeding and carried stuff for moving.

I was at 186.2 pounds this morning.

I'm feeling pretty positive.  :D

ARGH!

Well, bad news is I can't find my PT notebook.

Good news, as I was in bed, not sleeping, last night (too cold, too noisy, and hurt too much), I remembered what the first batch of exercises was.

I did my first set this morning, before I even got dressed for the day.  Yay me!

Today I was mostly ok, but I ate something either yesterday or today that doesn't agree with me and I feel like crap.

Gotta do the exercises again, since I also recall that I was supposed to do them twice a day.  Tomorrow I will do a search, which will involve me putting everything I'm not currently using that is near my 'nest' into a box to transport down to Woodstock.  Maybe two boxes.

back again!

Which is to say that my back is having issues again.

Sigh.

I guess this means that PT is a maintenance thing, not a do it for a bit then you're done thing.

I'm gonna start with the beginning stuff again, then progress as my PT person showed me, last year.  Conveniently, I kept everything.

I woke up super stiff and hurty this morning, which is why I decided to start up again.  BLAH

Health stuff is fitness, right?

I'm gonna start doing some jogging with my walking.  It was nice.

I'm starting to get neuropathy in my left foot. Feels like my toes are wrapped in cotton.  That isn't so nice.

A1c is down from last time.  7.1  It was 7.5.  Still high, but getting better.

Weight is down.  I'm hovering around 187 now, instead of 190.  Plus or minus 3.

Going to be moving right next to a trail head for a good trail for walking/jogging/running.  I hope this summer to start doing more of that.  I know John is happy to have it so close.
